I’m Lindsey Ralston, I make and create. If I think I can make something,  I’ll try it.  I enjoy the reward of finishing a project or learning how to do it differently the next time.

I prefer things I can make in a weekend, an afternoon or evening.  Often projects that are a series of days or weeks can keep me interested, as long as I can feel accomplished and challenged after each step.  I particularly like re-using old things in new ways, especially reclaimed wood.

I’m not focused on perfection and I like to create and make simply for the enjoyment of the creative process. If I make something functional then that’s a win! If I make something that doesn’t turn out, I usually have a good laugh and I learned how NOT to do it the next time.

I am blogging simply as an outlet to post my projects. I live in Seattle, with my husband Ward, and our 5 kids and I am a co-0wner of a Corporate Event Production company.

  1. Hi,

I just had a quick question in regards to your website. If you could email me at your convenience that would be great!

  2. Hi Lindsey,
I somehow just stumbled across your blog and after a few minutes realized that I took a sewing class with you last spring! The pillow making one taught by Cheryl! Small world! Anyhow, just thought I’d say hi! I love your blog!

  3. I’m a graphic design student in Seattle, and I’m collecting articles, photography, DIY tips/tricks, etc. to feature in a recycled art magazine. I’d love to discuss your work, the blog, and favorite projects, etc. Can you please contact me?

  4. Hey Lindsey,
If you were preparing your beet salad recipe for someone with a nut allergy, would you add in anything to replace the pine nuts? Since you have tasted this salad I thought you may have a suggestion. Thanks so much!! Julie
